Candle Care

  • When lighting your soy candle for the first time, be sure to allow the wax to melt to the sides of the jar - this will give you an even burn and give maximum fragrance throw.

  • Trim your wicks after or before each burn as this ensures a longer lasting burn time. If you see a 'mushroom' looking wick or the jar is turning black - you have burnt your candle for too long. The maximum burn time of each candle is 4 hours.

  • Avoid a wax pool fire by using a candle snuffer to put out your candle.

  • Avoid draughts, vibration, pets and children.

  • Always place your candle on an even surface away from anything that this flammable.

  • Store your candle in a cool dry place as soy candles are sensitive to temperature and light.

  • Because all of Montiana Candles are hand poured and not massed produced there will be slight variances to each candle. This includes discoloration in some candles - this is not a faulty product and will not have any effect on the burn time of your candle.

  • Use your Montiana Candles melts in approved tea light warmers only. Ensuring you follow the directions of the warmer.

  • Do not add water to your melts and keep the tea light burner in a well ventilated space away from flammable materials.
